About IronClan

Built by lifters, for lifters.

IronClan builds hardware and software for people who train with intent. We care about repeatable progress, not hype cycles.

Our first software release is Augment, a training workflow app for individuals, coaches, and gyms. Our hardware lane starts with rack accessories and expands into batch-built products like FatStax.

Who's behind this

Nick Haynes — Founder of IronClan

Hey — I'm Nick Haynes, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach. I actively train clients in the Portland, Oregon area.

I grew up active in sports, but fitness took a back seat when I pursued a career in tech — I spent years building software systems at Nike and other large companies. At 29, I found myself over 280 lbs and dealing with pre-diabetes, sleep apnea, and declining mental health. I decided to change. I fixed my diet, started resistance training, and took up running — starting with a quarter mile of mixed running and walking before I was gassed. Eventually I went from 5Ks to ultra marathons, on roads and trails. I lost over 80 lbs while adding lean mass and strength, and I've kept it off.

I know firsthand how easy it is to let self-care slide when life gets in the way. That experience — combined with years of training clients and building software — is why IronClan exists. Every product is born of necessity — a real problem in a real gym:

  • Training clients and tracking their progress by hand or in a spreadsheet.
  • Rack attachments that don't fit my admittedly budget garage rack.
  • Wanting a weight stack option that doesn't exist for my model.

If you've run into it, I probably have too — and got frustrated enough to build something to solve those problems, and just maybe they'll solve some for you too.

What we believe

Consistency is king

Show up, put in the work. No secret program, no magic supplement. The people who make progress are the ones who keep showing up.

Build what works

Every product solves a real problem. If it doesn't earn its place in your gym, we don't ship it.

No BS

The fitness industry is full of it. We'd rather give you straight information and let the results speak.

Go hard. Repeat.

That's it. That's the whole philosophy.
